Any health and safety issues here ?
Here's some cartoon fun with the Kleiner Roter Traktor bunch.......... luckily, there's a song on it too. I wonder if anything will go wrong ? ....here's another of their " I wonder what's going to go wrong" adventures ...but with the same music.... The third and last, though there's plenty more of them. Any health and safety issues here ?

Last time I showed you a very clever "condensed version " of a German play ... and there's a lot more of them ! And in each one, the cast consists of plastic toy people. No more back-stage tantrums with them then. ( Der Wutanfall) So ...here's some more .... short and sweet ... this ones last a massive 2½ minutes ... The Fall of the House of Usher ... This one's a lot longer .... 7 minutes !! Waiting for Godot !! That was 12 minutes well spent I reckon. .. and now... a fine song ... and the words as well .......... A "famous" play by Carl Zuckmayer ..... I was reading it yesterday and wondered .... is it on youtube ? Well, yes it is .... there's little chunks of it, and the whole caboodle .... and then there's this ... ..all done in 9 minutes with little plastic models ! Watching it is much more interesting that reading it... But that's true of all plays. Here's what some people think .... JIM ... Well, what I find tricky about reading plays is remembering who is who, and following those long interchanges between several characters. JULIA .. What I'd like is for each person to have their bit printed in a different colour. BORIS I always make myself a bookmark with the characters listed on it, and what sort of person they are, what their job is, their foibles and etc. It helps a lot. GARETH I hope both of those ideas are free of charge. JULIA .. I hope the music at the end is going to be good THE AUDIENCE Yes ...and so do we ! GARETH Ooh, goody, it's Farin Urlaub! JIM Yeah, but which song? BORIS "Phänomenal" of course. THE AUDIENCE Can we have a words video for it please ? Here's another (relatively) short talk ... Intelligentes Fehler-Management . It seems she can turn her hand to anything ! OK .. now you know. And here's Berge again with " Glück" A couple of posts ago I showed you the latest German/English dual-language book I've found in the attic ..... and I also got you to translate one of the German passages into English..... and now, here's another one for you to try ...here's the German version of it .. And lower down, I'll show you the original American/Eng;is version .. after this musical interlude ..and very fine it is too ... and .... . . here . . it . . is Don't worry if your version is not perfect .... perfection is hardly possible with that sort of thing !
Here's an engaging and funny video which points out all the mistakes you are making ... how kind ! A bit ago I had a string of posts about dual-language ( DL) books .... and one I hadn't been able to find was this one ... and amazingly, I've found it ..and very odd it is too ! .... you can imagine the problems it might have set for the translator .....saloons, hosses, "bub", interdooce me, "bucko", buckskin, cowpuncher ... and lots of nicknames ... what fun ! So ...here's an extract from the "Germanised" version ..... have a go at translating it back into the original American/English ..... and I'll show you the "original" for you to compare yours with later on at the bottom of the post....... ...and ...what will the music be ? ..and here's a handy picture to stop the "answer" from being seen too soon ... OK ...here's the "original" English/American story ...... don't worry if you didn't get quite the same thing ....
Here's one of Vera Birkenbihl's " talks" ... most of them are much longer than this .... but they're all entertaining and fascinating .... ... and, of course, Terrific For Your German ! " Männer und Frauen" ... and here's another short one ... a bit of a jump from the previous topic .. but that's what she does ! maybe ... I'll put on one of her l o n g e r ones in the f u t u r e. We're talking 1-6 hours here ! But the good thing about music is ... it's generally snappy and short. So let's have some ..... Berge ...... " Für die Liebe" Yep! I was v. surprised to find that there existed a German-dubbed version of Friends. Of course, it's a bit clunky .... but hey ... it's Terrific for your German. Here's the " Chandler und Monica" story in 9 short chunks ... Monica is the one on the right ... If you liked that, there's more of it on youtube ... meanwhile .. MUSIC ..... Revolverheld ... " Lass uns gehen " ... and here's the "Lyrik" video for it ... German and English . A few posts ago I put this beautiful song on here .. Philipp Poisel's " Mit jedem deiner Fehler" and I thought it would be a good one for you to learn.... and then I found a nice clear words video for it .... sorted !! And once you've learned it, you can sing along with this excellent cover of it ..... |
