I didn't know that book existed until I saw it in a junk shop. £1.99 it was. Reader, I bought it.
But what I DID know was that there's an extremely similar book called Merde...
And scurrilous !!!
They tell you the "real" language that people use, not just what the books say.
Here's some "informal"words for various parts of the human body... like ...
der Rüssel
die Birne
die Fresse
die Fratze
die Gucker
die Flosse
die Löffel
das Gesäß
der Erzatzreifen
der Vorbau
die Kirschen
der Pimmel
die Eier
See if you can work out which means what !!
The book is full of all sorts of slangy and downright disgusting words and phrases for all occasions. Well, nearly all. Plus, lots of helpful drawings too.
But the strange thing is, nowhere in the book can I find any mention of the French version ... which apparently came first... in 1984, compared to the German one in 1994..... how odd. They are almost identical in style and format, and they cover very similar areas of language. Hey ho. I'm glad they both exist.
Hey ! I wonder if there's a Spanish version ! Now there's a thought.
I've got one called Talk Dirty in Spanish .. it's OK , but it's not as good as those up there.
And now, the Music Spot .. recently voted " the 3267th best German-related Music Spot outside Berkshire" ... up a massive 7 places since last time.Woo !
And in an attempt to break the 3250 barrier I'm going for Die Toten Hosen and
" Das ist der Moment" .....
